Review the style of your writing
- Have you used the passive voice, where appropriate, to place the emphasis
on the action rather than the performer of the action?
- Have you avoided the use of contracted verb forms?
- Have you used subordination where appropriate to explain the relationships
between concepts, ideas, entities and states of affairs.
- Have you avoided colloquial expressions?
- Have you been careful not to be too cute or journalistic? (e.g.
`Ting, ting goes the tram as it carries busy workers to their jobs or
housewives to the market.')
