Social Work Vocabulary

This site has been designed primarily for students of social work. It may also be of interest to those studying or working in the fields of family therapy, counseling and psychology. The target words have been selected on the basis of their frequency of appearance in a small database of academic texts drawn from these fields and from professional social work case records.

Words which occur frequently in this database but are targeted in the academic vocabulary site the University Word Web are not included here unless they have a special meaning or usage in the social work field.
