Introduction
Who is the EPC web for?
The EPC web is designed for students at the University of Hong Kong, especially those
of you who are following English Centre courses on English for Professional Communication.
The EPC web will help you to prepare for the demands of English in your future career.
It will help you through the exciting and difficult tasks of choosing a career, finding an
employer, getting the job you want and using English effectively when you have got it.

How does the EPC web work?
The EPC web is divided into modules dealing with major functions of English for
professional communication. If you are following a professional English course, your
course materials may be linked to modules of the EPC web.
Most sections of the EPC web contain four sub-sections.
- The main page gives basic tips on the topic of the section and links to the other pages
in the section.
- Models give you examples of good practice in professional
communication.
- Tasks include interactive practice activities to help you develop the
the skills and language you need.
- Resources point you to additional resources in the University and on
the web.
